Whenever we see sweet potato on rehris in the vegetable market, we often feel like eating them but then, we don&#8217;t buy them as we think that they are rich in fat and will increase our weight. This is the perception of many.  But the reality is opposite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sweet Potato falls in the &#8216;roots and tubers&#8217; section of vegetables. Due to its awesome properties, it is also known as wonder root. Here&#8217;s a look at the nutritional information of Sweet potato:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>100 gms of Sweet potato contains 456 kcal energy, 1.33 gms protein, 24.25 gms carbohydrates, 0.26 gms fat and 3.99 gms fibre. SURPRISED&#8230;..Only 0.26 gms fat in 100 gms&#8230;. means negligible fat. Let us discuss nutritional importance of sweet potatoes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamins like Vit. A,  Vit. B1,  Vit. B5,  Vit. B6, Vit. C. They help in boosting immune system as they are rich in Vit. C. They are great for eyes, skin as they are rich in Vit. A.<\/li><li>Sweet potatoes are rich in minerals like pottasium, iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese. They control blood pressure as rich in pottasium. They are rich in iron, thats why prevent anaemia. Sweet potato strengthens bones as rich in calcium.<\/li><li>Sweet potatoes are rich in fibre, thats why helps in controlling appetite.<\/li><li>They contain complex carbohydrates thats why help in weight loss. <\/li><li>They contain antioxidants that helps in balancing free radicals.<\/li><li>Sweet potatoes are rich in cancer fighting compounds that slow tumour growth.<\/li><li>Sweet potatoes are low in glycemic index. Thats why helps in regulating blood sugar levels and thus diabetics can also take them in moderate amounts.<\/li><li>They are also good for hair and skin.<\/li><li>They also provide relief from stomach disorders.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Sweet potatoes can be boiled, baked or roasted.
