Thus increase in humidity. Increase in humidity leads to multiplication of bacteria and viruses, thus chances of indigestion, bloating, gas, diarrhoea, dysentery, sore throat, skin infections etc. Thus, special diet is needed in monsoon season to keep these infections at bay. Here are diet tips for monsoon season :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Start your day by gargling with salty warm water. This will decrease the chances of sore throat.<\/li><li>Use only washed and peeled fruits and vegetables to avoid contamination.<\/li><li>Enjoy light and seasonal fruits and vegetables like ghia, tori, bhindi, arbi, pumpkin, tinda, jamun, apple, banana. Avoid green leafy vegetables, watermelon, muskmelon. Consume brinjal, cauliflower, capsicum with caution. Include bitter vegetables in your diet like bitter gourd, ginger, garlic, turmeric, neem etc.<\/li><li>Include different grains like ragi (nachni), barley (jaun), oats, rajgira (amaranth) in your daily diet in addition to wheat.<\/li><li>In monsoons, dinner should be light and easy to digest such as  Veg Khichdi, Veg Dalia, Veg Oats etc. One thing more.., Dinner must be 3-4 hours before sleep. Though this is a general health rule, but it is especially important in monsoons.<\/li><li>Do include pro-biotics in your daily diet like curd, lassi etc. to keep your gut healthy.<\/li><li>Have salads in steamed, sauteed or boiled form. Don&#8217;t have them in raw form.<\/li><li>Enjoy kadhas made up of zeera, ajwain, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamon  to keep throat healthy. <\/li><li>Avoid outside food, particularly cut fruits and vegetables from outside.<\/li><li>Don&#8217;t skip your workout in rains. You can always do indoor exercises, yoga, meditation etc.<\/li><li> Aloe vera can also be taken in monsoon season to boost immunity. 2 tsp blended fresh aloe vera gel can be taken daily in smoothies, lassi, lemon water.<\/li><li>Organic turmeric powder can be added in the daily diet in the form of kadhas, haldi wala doodh to take the maximum benefit of its anti-inflammatory and anti-biotic properties.<\/li><li>Ginger can be added in the shaam wali chai as it is a very good antioxidant and excellent immunity booster. You can also add other herbs like cardamom, cloves, cinnamon etc.<\/li><li>Copper vessels should be used for storing and drinking water especially in monsoons as copper vessels are anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory, also capable of woung healing.<\/li><li> Give tadka of mustard seeds (rai) to every vegetable as mustard seeds prevents congestion and boosts immunity.<\/li><li>Skin care is of utmost importance in monsoons. Always wear sunscreen, even during cloudy weather when there is no sun. SPF MUST be 50 +.<\/li><li>Drink lots of water if you have oily and acne prone skin. Wash your face 2-3 times a day and keep your skin clean. If your skin is dry, use good moisturizer and hydrate well.<\/li><li>Exfoliation is very important in monsoons. Exfoliator for both dry and oily skin can be made at home by mixing 2 tsp water  and 1 tsp sugar. Then add 1\/2 tsp coffee powder and few drops lemon. This exfoliator is glycolic acid rich  and can be used twice a day.<\/li><li>Hair should also be taken care of during this season as hair fall is at its peak during monsoons. Wash your hair immediately if they get wet with rain water as rain water is acidic and can damage your hair.<\/li><li>One can also do champi with sarson ka tel or nariyal ka tel. For hairfall, one can use homemade oil recipe : 1\/2 tsp coconut oil + 1\/2 tsp argan oil + 3-4 Vit. E capsules + 1 tsp fresh aloe vera gel + 1\/2 lemon<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>This monsoon season, follow these simple rules and make this your happy season.
